For those of us who have ever shopped for eyeglasses, choosing a lens is
one of the most important steps. Especially so if you are one that
wears your glasses all day everyday, versus just a casual wearer. Now,
for those familiar with lens choices, I’m pleased to introduce a new
option ~ a lighter, safe, and greener option ~ when selecting eyewear.
I sent my Cynthia Rowley frames in to Airwear to have the lenses replaced with Airwear Lenses by Essilor and when I received them back I immediately noticed a difference. It felt as though I had no lenses in my frames at all, they were that light. There are some days where I wear contact lenses, but on the days where I’ve worn my glasses all day, I can get a little fatigue from the weight on the bridge of my nose. I haven’t expereienced that since sporting my Airwear Lenses. I’ve also found them easier to clean.
Those are just a few examples of things I’ve noticed about my use of Airwear Lenses. What’s even better about Airwear Lenses are the things that the average wearer wouldn’t notice outright, such as:
Lighter ~ Designed for comfort, performance, protection and style, Airwear lenses are 43 percent lighter than standard plastic lenses. Airwear lenses are available for single vision and progressive prescriptions and are compatible with the world’s most-trusted vision brands such as Varilux®, Crizal®, Xperio®, DEFINITY® and Transitions®.
Safer ~ Many eye injuries are preventable. The American Academy of Ophthalmology reports that more than 100,000 people sustain eye injuries each year. Designed for comfort, performance, protection and style, Airwear lenses are 12 times more impact-resistant than standard plastic lenses.
Healthier ~ Did you know that 12 to 15 million people annually develop blindness from cataracts and about 20 percent of those cases may be caused or compounded by sun exposure? Airwear lenses provide 100 percent protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
Essilor Junior ~ Essilor Junior™ lenses combine Airwear polycarbonate material with Trio Clean, a new coating specifically designed for children. These lenses are designed to respond perfectly to the needs of children and the expectations of parents: light, resistant polycarbonate lenses with visual comfort specifically adapted for children and 100 percent protection against UVA and UVB rays. The Trio Clean coating eliminates parasite reflections, resists scratches and smudges, and makes cleaning lenses easy. They are 43 percent lighter and 25 percent thinner than regular lenses and come with a one-year unlimited warranty from Essilor.
Getting Greener All the Time ~ Now you can support the environment and establish an everyday green routine with your eyewear. A pioneer in optical lenses, Essilor now employs eco-conscious manufacturing processes in our Airwear lenses. Airwear lenses are the first Essilor lens material to go green, significantly reducing its environmental footprint by implementing responsible manufacturing, including:
